Information we collect

• Account information, including your email address, display name, account status, and sign-in records.
• Your selected sources, briefings, preferences, queue, bookmarks, and played-article history.
• Operational records such as speech and extraction usage, mail delivery status, errors, and support messages.
• Limited playback diagnostics, including player events, device/browser description, visibility state, and timing. These exist to diagnose continuous and locked-screen playback.
• Security records. Network addresses are converted to keyed pseudonymous labels for abuse detection; access logs retained by the web host may contain ordinary request information.
• First-party launch events such as a welcome-page visit, invitation request, and account activation. A random browser identifier is hashed before storage. PressPlayed does not use advertising trackers.

How we use information

We use it to operate your account, assemble and play briefings, enforce allowances, deliver account email, answer support requests, improve onboarding and reliability, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party behavioral advertising.

Service providers and publishers

PressPlayed uses infrastructure, email-delivery, backup-storage, and speech-processing providers. Article text is sent for speech generation when needed. Requests to publishers necessarily identify PressPlayed’s server to those publishers. Providers may process information only as needed to supply their services or comply with law.

Storage and retention

Account data remains while the account is open. Article extractions and generated audio are cached for limited periods to improve reliability and avoid repeated processing. Product-funnel events are retained for no more than 180 days. Security and operational records are retained only as reasonably needed for investigation and reliability. Encrypted backups may retain deleted information until the applicable backup cycle expires.

Cookies and local storage

PressPlayed uses essential cookies for secure sign-in and first-party browser storage for preferences, playback recovery, installation choices, and the random launch-measurement identifier. There are no advertising cookies.

Your choices

You can change listening preferences in Settings. To request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of account information, email info@pressplayed.com from your account address. Some information may be retained when required for security, legal compliance, or backup integrity.

Children and changes

PressPlayed is not directed to children under 13. We may update this notice as the service develops; material changes will be identified by a new effective date and, when appropriate, account notice.
