From RSS feed to audio briefing

You choose what belongs in the briefing. PressPlayed handles the reading order and narration.

1. Bring the sources you already follow

   Add an RSS feed by address, search for a publisher, or import an OPML file from another reader. You can also follow a subject across publishers instead of choosing every source yourself.

2. Organize a briefing

   A collection combines publishers you select. A topic briefing tracks a subject automatically.

3. Press play once

   Choose a voice and playback speed, then start the briefing. PressPlayed reads each available article and advances to the next one automatically; you can skip whenever an item is not worth your time.

4. Put the phone away

   Install PressPlayed from the browser so it opens like an app. On supported mobile browsers, playback is designed to continue with the screen locked, with article controls available from the lock screen.

Full articles, not generated summaries

PressPlayed retrieves readable text from the publisher's page and prepares that text for narration. When the article is accessible, you hear the published prose rather than a generated recap or a playlist of headlines. That makes it useful when you want the detail and context of the original article while walking, driving, cooking, or doing other screen-free work.

What to expect—and what PressPlayed does not do

• An internet connection is required to refresh feeds, retrieve articles, and generate narration. PressPlayed is not an offline-download library.
• PressPlayed does not bypass paywalls, sign-ins, or publisher access controls. If a publisher blocks retrieval or supplies only a short feed summary, an item may use the available feed text or may not play.
• Phone calls, Bluetooth controls, other audio apps, and battery restrictions can interrupt locked-screen playback.
• Articles built mainly from video, charts, or interactive graphics will not translate completely to audio.
